Alfonzo Williams, born on February 4, 1952, in Ludowici, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, after a prolonged illness. He was 74 years old.
Alfonzo was a man known for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family. His life was rooted in the values he carried from his hometown—hard work, humility, and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew him.
In 1974 after moving to Jersey City, New Jersey, he met and married Rita James. Together they welcome Tamika and Alfonzo, Jr. into their family, creating a legacy built on love.
Alfonzo attended Long County Schools and completed his education with the Job Corps, Bosie, Idaho where he studied Brick Masonry. He also received his high school diploma.
Alfonzo worked at Owens- Illinois, a manufacturing glass company, North Bergen, New Jersey; Eastern Bulk, Transport, Inc.; King and Sons Funeral Home, Glennville, Ga,
Though he is no longer with us, Alfonso’s memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Alfonzo Williams, Jr. (Bug), and his father Harry Wesley Porter.
He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted daughter, Tamika Henderson, whose unwavering love and care were a testament to their bond. He is also survived by his precious mother, Ruth Helen Williams Stewart; grandchildren: Jahod Henderson, Jordon Henderson, and Jace Henderson. Great Grandchildren: Kyro Henderson, Alyssa Williams. His legacy extends to his brothers Wilbert A. Richardson, Levi Richardson, Thomas Richardson, and Dennis L. Stewart (Loretta ). Sisters: Dorothy R. Berry (Barney), Min. Clara J. Cross, Wilma J. Richardson Bacon, Rose Mary Smith, and Takena T. Stewart, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Alfonso’s legacy lives on through the precious memories that we have of him and his love for his family and friends.
