Baby Ruth Harris was born on December 27, 1936 in McRae, Georgia. Baby Ruth was
the 8th child of thirteen born to the late Tom and Mary Harris.
Baby Ruth received her education in Georgia. After leaving Georgia, she lived in several
cities in Florida like Pahokee, Fort Pierce but chose Miami, Florida as her lifelong home.
She moved back to Lumber City, Georgia in 2005 and worked as a Private Duty Care
Professional, until she was unable to work.
Baby Ruth was a hard worker. She worked as a security guard, housekeeper, childcare
and home healthcare worker.
Baby Ruth was a sweet and special lady. Her name described her perfectly as "Baby
Ruth". She loved her family. She was always surrounded by friends and family. She
spoke her mind and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Aunt
Baby Ruth opened her home to anyone in need and opened her heart to everyone she
met. Her smile and laughter brought joy to everyone she encountered. She will truly be
missed.
Baby Ruth accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and always encouraged
everyone to pray without ceasing. One of her favorite passages was Psalm 23. On
July 7, 2021, God called His Sweet Baby Ruth home.
She leaves behind one brother, Edgar Lee Harris of Miami, FL and three sisters Mildred
Hester, Miami, FL, Grace Hardy and Tommie Lee Batten both of Lumber City, Georgia.
A host of Nieces/Great Nieces, Nephews/Great Nephews and countless cousins and
