The Legacy of Barbara J. Poe
Barbara Jean Poe began her life on 23 July 1956 at Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Fl. She was born to Jimmy and Alvina Poe. Barbara spent most of her life between Florida and Georgia. She attended Massey Business College in Atlanta, Georgia and obtained an Associate Degree in Business.
Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was widely known in Glennville as one of the "Poe sisters with the light eyes." She was an avid reader. She had the knack for closing out the world and diving into her books.
Barbara was preceded in her journey home to be with the Lord by her mother, Alvina Poe, father Jimmy Poe; maternal grandmother Eva Mae Eason and paternal grandmother Lissie Poe, sisters Rose Mary Washington and Brenda Gail Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory both her sons Jermaine Tyrone Davis and Nicolas Ronteia Poe. Granddaughters (Tyrone) Shatyria Davis, Syeria Davis, and Saryniti Davis. Grandson (Tyrone) Semaj Johnson. Great-grandsons (Tyrone) Jakai, Chase and Cree. Granddaughters (Nicolas) five and four grandchildren. One sister Winnie D. Moore, Rockledge, Fl and one brother Alan Johnson, Glennville, Ga. One adopted sister Hope Dobbs, Glennville, Ga. Longtime friend and confidant Mary Sue Porter.
A maternal aunt Lillie Mae Eason of Claxton, Ga and paternal aunt Betty Fennell of Carbon Country, CA. Maternal uncles Willie Arthur (Jessie Mae) Young, Reidsville, GA and Richard Eason, Miami, FL. A special friend and loving caregiver Carrie Smith. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
