Bishop Roosevelt Gordon

Roosevelt Gordon was born on January 14, 1920, to the late Elizabeth and Joseph Gordon. Bishop Gordon lived in Sylvania, Ga. In 1941 he joined the army and completed his service in 1945. In 1947 is when he met his wife, the late Mae Gordon, they married on March 1, 1947, they were married for 62 years. They moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl in 1953. Bishop Gordon found The Lord under the leadership of Bishop Mose Williams of Pure Church of Righteousness. They served there until the Lord blessed them with a church of their own, 'Spiritual Church of God in Christ' in 1966. He moved to Georgia in 2009 after the passing of his wife and joined White Pine Community Church of God under Bishop Wallace and Elder Gertie Grant where he served until the Lord called him home to glory. Bishop Roosevelt and Mae Gordon had eight children. He preceded in death Edward, Alice, Hymie, and Ulysses in death. Bishop Gordon leaves his legacy of ministry and memories to cherish: Ella E. Blair of Reidsville, Ga, Dr. Larry(Marilyn) Gordon of Houston, TX, Joe L. Gordon of Glennville, Ga, and John(Flee- Terra) Doe of Pompano, Fl. One Sister, Queen, and one brother, Willy James Gordon. 30 Grandchildren, 73 Great Grandchildren, 34 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Also a special niece, Lilly Mae Nixon. To my family I leave behind may God continue to bless each and everyone of you.
