Life Reflections of Carroll Carter
late Mrs. Julia Roberts Carter in Jeff Davis County, GA. He was a life-long citizen of Denton, Georgia. He attended the Jeff Davis County School System in Hazlehurst, Georgia.
At an early age, he joined the Denton Church of God in Christ, where he served as a faithful deacon. He also attended both the Bethel AME Church and Level Green Missionary Baptist Church in Denton, GA.
Cal, as he was affectionately Carroll Carter was born on January 28, 1950 to the called, was a faithful, devoted, loving and caring man of the community, where he was well known. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He departed his earthly life on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Hazlehurst Court Care in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Preceding him in death are his mother, two brothers, Wilbert Carter and Roosevelt "known as Junior" Carter; and three sisters: Dorothy L. Taylor, Rosie Lee Jordan, and Inez C. Rush.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a sister, Mary Alice Hollis of Hazlehurst, GA; a brother-in-law, Ozell Taylor of Harker Height, Texas; a sister-in-law, Lizzie Carter of Orange Park, Florida. Nephews: Mike (Annie) Carter, Gregory (Yousha) Stegall, Wilbert ( wife) Carter, Jr., Alton Hollis, Steven Hollis, Stanley Robinson, and Berry (Kwana) Jordan and their children. Nieces: Deannie Mae Williams, Ebony (Don) Williams, Judy Rivera, Jackie Taylor, Courtney Carter, Angela (Rel) McNaeir, and Nikki Carter. His best friend, Elijah "Ninny" Brown. And a host of cousins and other relatives.
