Collis Costen

Collis Costen the son of the late Lester Costen and Jadie Mae Ranson-Costen, was born on August 15, 1950, in Collins, GA. He departed this life, August 28, 2022, at his residence in Collins, GA.

Collis attended Elementary School in Collins, GA and graduated High School, from Tattnall County Industrial High School in Reidsville, GA. There he met his High School sweetheart Annie Ruth Carswell, they later married and to this union, three children were born Tracy, Angela, and Collis Costen Jr, who proceeded him in death October 26, 2002, and wife Annie R. Costen preceded him in death on July 21, 2020.

Collis's occupations were plumbing and welding, he was employed with Randall Murrays Plumbing Co. for many years, until he became disabled.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters, Tracy Costen-King (Charlie King) Deltona, Fla., Angela Costen, Collins, GA. and Goldie Glynn from Atlanta, GA.; grandchildren, Jason Costen (Elaine), Isaih Williams, Collis Williams, Lillie Williams-Dixon (Corwin), Aziz Njie, Omar Njie and Timorthy Hunter; great-grandchildren, Leylah Dixon, Corwin Dixon Jr, Grayson Benjamin Mack, Braylynn Paige Mack, and Neveah Ann Costen; six sisters and one brother Catherine Smith, Teaneck, NJ, Willis Costen, Collins, GA, Julie Bailey (Laymon), Atlanta, GA, Frances Borden (Alphonso), Englewood, NJ, Jessie. D Goodman (William) Elmont, NY, Evelyn Costen, Reidsviile GA, Helen McKinnon (Alton) Collins, GA; two sisters-in-laws Valerie Mincey Reidsville, GA, Gracie Mae Carswell Atlanta GA; two brothers-in-laws Rev. Artis Carswell Jr (Janice), Reidsville, GA and Van Carswell Reidsville, GA; one uncle Bobby Carson, (Ida) Syracuse NY; one aunt Bessie Carson Savannah, GA; five nephews Lamar Smith, Quinton Smith, Donald Smith, Clifford Smith, and Herman Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members, and friends.
