Dan Conner Jr. is the son of the late Dan Conner Sr. and the late Earlene James. He was born on February 9,
1970.
Dan attended Claxton High School. He was known as a breakdancer back in the day. Dan and his friends
were involved in many talent shows in school.
Dan accepted Christ and was baptized at the Historic Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church by Reverend
Michael Paul Dickerson. He was active member of the church. He drove the church vans and worked in the
recording booth with Deacon Riley.
He started work at the age of 19 where he was employed by Valmont Utilities for 35 years. He was a
dedicated worker. He was a foreman and a trainer. During his career he trained many employees. The guys
of Valmont looked up to him and considered him a role model. He was a great provider for his family. He
enjoyed cooking. So much so, that he purchased a food trailer in 2022 and traveled to different events. He
operated it a long side his wife, daughter, and nephew. He loved his family and would do all that he could for
his wife, kids, grandkids, nephews, nieces, cousins, and his siblings.
Dan suddenly became ill on April 20, 2024 and he was at Candler/Saint Joseph Hospital for four months.
Dan Conner Jr. passed away in the early hours on the morning of July 25, 2024. He was proceeded in death
by both parents, his oldest brother Joseph Anthony James, close uncle Leon James, and nephew Chavez's
Brown. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Conner and four children: Carol Danielle Conner, Dynesha
Danielle Collins, Dan Conner III, and Keri Danaisha Conner. Grandkids Aaron Slater, Traedon Fountain,
Xavier Slater Jr. and Kamilah Fountain. Siblings; Brother Carl James Sr. (Elrica) Norristown, PA; Sister
Johnnie Mae Cooper (Don) Mendes, GA. Stepsisters: Jo Ann Hall, Charlotte Hall, and Patricia Williams. Four
Brother-in-laws: Leroy Hagan, Rodney Hagan, Dravious Burke, Jarvis Hagan. Mother-in-law Carrie Hagan.
Aunts and Uncles: Carolyn Green of Hagan, GA; Will James of Miami, FL; Leola Dell, Charlene Harris,
Maxine & Alonzo Newbold, Jerome & Leola Harris, Bernice & Rodney Strachan, Loretha Harris, Pearl
Harris. Deceased: James Harris, Henry Harris, and Alfonso Harris. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins,
relatives, and friends.
