Daniel Brown, 90, transitioned into the loving arms of God on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Memoria Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born June 6, 1932 to the late Henry and Annie Brown. He was a native of Tattnall County and educated in Glennville Colored School System.
On June 19, 1951; Daniel married Mellie Ruth Braggs where they were united for 69 years. With that union 11 children were raised.
He was employed by E.K. Jenkins Timber, Tatum Brothers, Wilson Brothers, Dasher Brothers, and later became owner and operator of Brown Brothers Trucking until he retired at the age of 85 years old.
At a young age he joined Smith Street Church of God, now known as Evening Light Reformation Church of God. This is where he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and served as Chairman of the Deacon Board.
Daniel was a man of God who loved to work and provide for his family, harvest crops and help others. He had a loving, joyful, welcoming spirit and met not strangers. He loved everyone as if they were family, but most of all he loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years, Mellie Ruth, his daughters, Lillie Joyce Brown and Rebecca Williams; six siblings and 7 grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Hercules (Shirley) Eason of Sanford, FL, Diane Knight of Hinesville, GA, Earl Brown of Reidsville, GA, Priscilla Brown of Glennville, GA, Terry (Lucille) Brown of Pooler, GA, Pamela Brown of Glennville, GA, Erick (Mae) Brown of Glennville, GA, Tonja Brown of Glennville, GA and Patrick Brown of Glennville, GA; Sister, Betty B. (James) Davis of Statesboro, GA; God daughter, Marilyn Grant; 35 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
