Deacon Arthur Lee Myles, Sr., affectionately known as "Bob-B," was born June 3, 1943, in Tooms County, Georgia, to John and Elvira Myles. He was a middle son to their 13 children: Willie S. J. Phillip, John Henry, Curtis, Richard, Robert, Rudolph, James, Leroy, David, Lelar Pearl White, and Louise Carter. His dedication as a hard worker and provider began at an early age, when he quit school after his Freshman year to help his father provide for their family. His parents and siblings have all preceded him in death.
He served as a Lineman for the United States Army and earned several decorations and commendations before being honorably discharged in 1970. He retired from Hazlehurst Mills as a Maintenance Supervisor after serving 38 years. He was a master carpenter and blessed strangers, friends, and family alike with his gift.
He was a dedicated member of Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 40 plus years, serving as a financial officer and the designing architect who built the current sanctuary that stands today. During the latter years of his life, he continued to serve the Lord as a member of Kirkland Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and several heartfelt roles to help others until the Lord called him home.
He leaves to cherish and carry on his memory his devoted wife of 54 years, Mable Myles, his loving daughter, Janice, his only son, Arthur Lee Myles, Jr. (Tiffanie), 7 grandchildren - Jasmin, Jayla, Artiyah, Tahlia, Israel, Rowan, and Jayce; and a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
