Bobbie Jean Cox was born March 1, 1957, in Reidsville, to the late Moses and Mamie Harris. Three siblings preceded her in death: Andry James Harris, Linda Sabrina Smith, and Annette Williams.
She departed her earthly life on January 26, 2026, at Liberty Memorial Health in Hinesville, GA. She attended Glennville High School through the twelfth grade and received her GED in 2004. She united in holy matrimony to Mr. Charlie Sylvester Jr. on November 22, 1974, for 51 years. To this union, three children were born.
Bobbie joined the church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend T. J. Lynch. She loved the Lord and served faithfully at Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist as a deaconess under the leadership of Reverend Dr. C. L. Anderson Sr. Bobbie loved her fellowship with her 05:00 am prayer warriors.
Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Sylvester of Glennville GA. Her children: Kelvin Bernard Cox of Stonecrest, GA, Sophie Valincia Frink (Christopher) of Statesboro, GA, and Warden Eric LaShawn Cox, SR. of Jackson, GA. One Stepdaughter, MeKeisha Banks of Hinesville, GA. Six grandsons, Eric LaShawn Cox, Jr of Glennville GA, Cameron DeShawn Cox, Jaylen KeShawn Cox, and Zechariah Chrishawn Cox all of Brunswick, GA. Kaleb Isiah Cox, and DeShawn Banks Jr of Hinesville, GA. One Great-grandson, Za’Kai Baker, of Brunswick, GA. Four siblings: Annie Nell Alston (Alfred Sr.) of Atlanta, GA, Earnest Lee Harris (Linda Gail), Melvin Harris (Rachel) all of Glennville, GA, and Dr. C. Cloria Jean Harris of Atlanta, GA. The special mother of her grandchildren, Andrea Williams of Brunswick, GA. Two special sisters-in-law, Delanne Bacon, and Gail Saunders. In marriage she gained an aunt with impeccable love and wisdom in Ms. Julia Pearl Simmons of Statesboro, GA. Five special friends, Julia Gail Bacon, Cora Lee Roberson, Cathy Hall, Maria Arthur, and Elaine Smiley. A host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
