Doretha Nell Brown passed away Friday afternoon,

September 27, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Doretha was 71

years old. Her family was close in attendance at her bedside

until her death.

Doretha was born July 25, 1953 in Hinesville Ga, to the late

Thomas Henry Jenkins, Freddie Lee Brown and Doretha

Givens Brown. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joe

Hayward and Freddie Lee Brown Jr. 1 Grandson: Alexander

Shields, 2 Special uncles: R.W. Riley and Eddie Givens. 1

Special aunt: Thelma Givens Riley.

Nell attended the public

schools in Tattnall County. Doretha was employed at Pierce

County Nursing Home in the housekeeping department in

Blackshear Ga until she retired after 20 years of service. She

was known for spending her free time at a pond or creek

fishing the day away. She enjoyed dancing and entertaining

her friends with lots of laughs, food and music. Nell was a

friend's friend; she could talk with anyone about anything,

giving them comfort in knowing  "If God did it for me He will do it for you."

Nell attended Powerhouse of Faith Ministries,

before her health failed where she calls Dr. Kenneth A

Kirksey Sr. her Pastor.

She leaves to cherish her memories: 1

Uncles: Frank Givens of Hazlehurst Ga. and Perry Deloach of

Washington DC; 2 Bonus daughters: Vivian Cook of

Glennville Ga. Idella Bradley of Brunswick Ga. 12

Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 2 God-Children;

Special Someone: James Williams (JW) of Waycross Ga; 2

Special cousins: Janie Mae Henderson of Blackshear Ga.

and Larry Kirkland of Rochester NY; 2 Special friend: Rosa

Mae Moody (Skeeter) of Glennville Ga. and Linda Phillips of

Baxley Ga; Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
