Edmund Terrell Mcgauley, Sr.

March 11, 1958 — October 29, 2021

OBITUARY Edmund Terrell McGauley, Sr. was born March 11, 1958, in Waycross, GA, to the late Nellie Mae Ladler McGauley and Jacob Wesley McGauley. He entered eternal rest on October 29, 2021, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL. Terrell graduated from Blackshear High School in 1978. He was married to Denise Wilson McGauley from October 22, 1984, to April 4, 2004, to this union three children were born. His Church Affiliations include Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church of Blackshear, GA, Community Holiness Church, Waycross, GA and Macedonia Baptist Church, Patterson, GA. After working many years for many contractors as a brick mason, he later decided to venture out on his own with the help of his brother James, his nephews Donell, Ronald, his sons, Jacob, Terrell Jr., cousin Leon and many more. He continued until he was no longer able to do what he so loved doing, which was bricking up beautiful homes and or businesses. He was musically inclined and very gifted in playing the bass guitar. He came from a family of music lovers and singers. He loved all types of music, especially quartet singing, which was evident every time he sang. He made you feel the words he sang. His love of music was instilled in his children, as well as his grandchildren. Terrell loved the outdoors and gardening. In the spring you could look forward to corn, okra, tomatoes, and watermelons. In the fall, greens filled the garden: mustards, turnips, and collard greens in such an abundance, you could feed three neighborhoods. He was preceded in death by sisters: Bobbie Jean McGauley Pope (Harold), Pastor Dorothy Nell McGauley Smith, Claudia Lee McGauley Wilcox; a brother, Thomas Lee McGauley, Sr. (Mary Jean); nephews: Ahmon Axson, James Donell McGauley, Jr., Earl Smith, Jr., Thomas McGauley. Jr.; a sister-in-law, Annette Brickle McGauley, and brother-in-laws, Cecil Jones and Leonard Gallashaw. He leaves to cherish his memory four loving children: Edmund "Terrell" McGauley, Jr. (Natasha), Marquia "Kay" McGauley Sallet (Joshua), Jacob "Jay"McGauley (LaKeisha), and Terea "Saruin" McGauley; ten grandchildren, Trinity Muchison, Jadon Muchison, Khloe Sallet, Mikelah Ford, Noelle Ford, Robert Moody, Jr., Jikeyse McGauley, Ava McGauley, Jayla McGauley, all from Blackshear, GA, and Amari McGauley from Jacksonville, FL.
