Eva Pearl Jordan was born February 13, 1938 to the late Henry and Annie Brown. she attended and graduated from the Glennville High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Barber Scotia College, and attend Savannah State and Armstrong State Colleges for her teaching certifications. Dr. Jordan returned to the classroom and received her Masters of Education from Georgia Southern College, now Georgia Southern University. She later received her Doctorate Degree in Mainstreaming Learning-Disabled students from the Georgia Southern University. Doctor Jordan completed her educational goals with the completion of her studies for a PHD(Ed).
Dr. Jordan utilized her educational background to teach the students of Tattnall County for 32 years and the Department of Corrections for an additional 10 years. Throughout these 40 plus years, she never saw a student that she couldn't teach or a student that didn't need to be educated. Dr. Jordan loved her community and the residents who live and traveled through it. She never met a stranger and was always willing to help and assist. Dr. Jordan was a wonderful fisherman who always carried a bucket and pole in her trunk, so she could enjoy an afternoon delight.
Dr. Eva was preceded in death by her parents and sisters; Rosa Lee Batten, Evelyn Wilson, Mary Lizzie Hall and brothers; Bennie Brown and Willie Lee "Bill" Brown.
Dr. Eva B. Jordan leaves to cherish, her spouse of 42 years Michael B. Jordan, Sr., two sons; Darryl C. McKinnon, Savannah, GA, and E. Dean (Lavonia) McKinnon, Jacksonville, FL, four grandchildren; Ashley C. Walker, Jacksonville, FL, Justin R. (Sheneka) McMillian, Jacksonville, FL, Edwin D. (Kacee) McKinnon, II, Naval Station Activity, Naples, Italy, and Cameron K. M. R. McKinnon, Jacksonville, FL. She leaves to share in her memory ten great grandchildren; Jaylen, Jada, Justayshia, Tito, Edwin Dean III, Justin, Jr., Kamryn, Londyn, Camari, and Camiya. Dr. Jordan also has two sibling that will share in her loss; her brother, Daniel Brown, Glennvile, GA, and sister Betty B. (James) Davis, Statesboro, GA.
God has called home a great educator, wife, mother, sister, auntie, and friend. She lived her life as she knew Jesus was coming soon! She leaves these words for every student, "use your head for something other than a hat rack." Mama, take your well-deserved sweet rest! WE LOVED YOU AND WILL MISS YOU, BUT GOD LOVES YOU MOST! Amen
