Evangelist Pearlene Knox Reed

March 13, 1952 — August 28, 2021

Evangelist Reverend Pearlene K. Reed was born in Jeff Davis County, Georgia on March 13, 1952, to the late Willie Lee and Henrietta Knox. She attended her earlier years of school in Jeff Davis County and later graduated from Fort Valley State College in 1975, receiving a Bachelor of Education degree. She later served active duty in the United States Army from 1975-1977. Pearlene devoted 30 years of service in the Jeff Davis County School System as an Elementary School Teacher. After retiring she devoted the rest of her life in the ministry. At an early age she joined Bennett Tabernacle and later Tallahassee Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the senior choir. She received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit on July 12, 1992. She joined Hazlehurst House of God in August 1992 where she served faithfully in the choir, as a Sunday School Bible Teacher and minister. At Hazlehurst House of God, she served dutifully under the leadership of the Late General Elder Ruby Thomas and G.E.I.T. Elder George P. Clark III, and under the present General Andrew Mincey and Bishop Cleary K. Butler. She was a very active member within her community, working with local churches and abroad on many occasions in various counties and cities - Douglas, Fitzgerald, Lumber City, Graham, Glennville, and Baxley. She loved the ministry and enjoyed fellowshipping with others. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, King Daughters Chapter 12. She received other certificates - Royal and Exalted Order of Amaranth Degree and Queen of the South. On August 28, 2021, God unveiled his master plan and called Pearlene to her final resting place. Many of us do not understand why, yet we must say "Father not my will, but thy will be done." She was preceded in death by the following relatives: Father, Willie Knox; Mother, Henrietta Knox; and Siblings, Joseph Knox, Curtis Knox, Carrie K. Young, Ira L.
