First Lady Fannie M. Lockey-Flynn

July 13, 1962 — August 8, 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of First Lady Fannie Maxine Lockey-Flynn~ a lover of Jesus, a radiant soul, and a cherished pillar of her family and community. Born in Waycross, Georgia, on July 13, 1962 to the late Mr. Johnnie Lockey Sr. and Mrs. Laura Lee Lockey, Fannie transitioned peacefully into the presence of the Lord on August 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Fannie's early years were marked with a natural ability to bring joy to those around her. In 1975, she joined the First Born Church of the Living God, and gave her life to Christ . In the sixth grade she met a young man named Michael H. Flynn--who would later become the love  of her life-her husband and ministry partner. They were married on October 8, 1994, and together they built a life of love, faith and service that spanned nearly 31 beautiful years.

Fannie graduated from Waycross High School in 1980 and dedicated 43 years to the banking industry, all while faithfully serving in ministry. She was a choir member, youth leader, Sunday School teacher, and ultimately, the beloved First Lady of the First Born Church of the Living God, headquartered at HJ. Echols Memorial Tabernacle in Waycross.

Lady Flynn is known for her boundless love--for her family, her church, and everyone she encounters. She doesn't see race, status, or background--she sees soul. She treats everyone like somebody, and her love is always felt deeply and sincerely.

She gives quietly and generously, never seeking recognition. Whether it is a mouth-watering homecooked meal, a thoughtful gift, or her mere presence of support, she sows seeds of kindness wherever she goes. Her presence lights up every room, even when she isn't able to be present at an event, she makes sure her love is felt. She is a social butterfly, supporter, and a cheerleader for those she loves, near and far.

Fannie's faith is her foundation. Through every storm and every celebration, she declare, "But God!" Her favorite testimony echoes through the her life. "When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He's done for me, my soul cries out hallelujah, I thank God for saving me!" She finds peace in her favorite song, "I Trust In God" by Aware Worship featuring Mark Gutierrez, and strength in her favorite scripture: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." --Philippians 4:13

Fannie is a devotes wife, loving mother and Gigi (Grandmother), cherished sister, treasured aunt, faithful friend, and wise mentor. Her southern hospitality, bright smile, and delicious home-cooked meals makes everyone feel at home. Her spirit is infectious, her love unwavering, and her legacy unforgettable.

She is a preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Johnnie Lockey Sr. and Mrs. Laura Lee Lockey; her brother Jeffery Lockey; her father-in-law, Deacon Albert Flynn Sr. and brother-in-law Richard Flynn.

She leaves a legacy a love and faith in the hearts of her husband, Bishop Michael H. Flynn; her son, Michael H. Flynn Jr.; Her granddaughter, A'Nyla Flynn; her sister, Missionary Sheila (Lewis Jr,) Stinson; her brothers, Larry (Gwenette) Lockey, Ernest (Willie Mae) Lockey Sr., Johnny (Beatrice) Lockey Jr., Michael (Wilmatine) Lockey, and Anthony (Stephanie) Lockey; her mother-in-law, Evangelist Louise Flynn; her sisters and brothers in-law, Minister Greg Flynn, Errol Flynn, Judy Flynn, Minister Tim (Elizabeth) Flynn, Missionary Kalista (Conner) Flynn-Carter, Albert (Angela) Flynn Jr., and Jorel (Christy) Flynn; her only 2 living Aunts, Rosa Wright and Algirtha Perry; her god-children, LaNae Stinson and Kenia Kirksey; a host nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
