Gary Lavaughn Mcbride, Sr.

April 12, 1957 — February 4, 2021

The sun began shining on April 12th, 1957 when a handsome young man was born to Mr. Willie and Mrs. Ida Mae McBride, and they would name him Gary Lavaughn McBride Sr. Gary was educated in the Bulloch County School System. He was the eldest of his mother's children. Gary was overprotective of his mother and ensured that he was always there for her. Immediately after High School, Gary enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served faithfully until retirement. Gary worked through the ranks and retired as a Sergeant. Gary was a hard-working man. Even after retirement, he worked several jobs. He was a man that you could not slow down. He was a man that loved life and his family. It was on the date of September 17th, 1998 that he would marry the love of his life, Mrs. Sandra Cox-McBride. She became his pride and joy and he loved her beyond life itself. After marriage, Gary spent the last 22 years in love with his Queen. Gary was also a God-fearing man. Yes, he loved his family but above all he loved his God. He was a licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel. Gary was a faithful and devoted member of Tabernacle of Faith Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop Julian A. Jones. He served faithfully in his church as a dedication unto the Lord. Gary attended Trinity Temple College of Religion where he received several certifications in religion. He graduated with a degree in Religion in 2007. It would happen on the evening of February 4th, 2021 that he would enter eternal rest. He fought a good fight, and he surely kept the faith and was welcomed into his heavenly home. He fell asleep after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family.
