Gidget Samantha Chieves McRae entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at the Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon, GA. She was born to the late Frankie Lee Chieves and Jinnie Mae Clemons Chieves on October 12, 1969, in Jeff Davis County, Hazlehurst, GA. She was a resident of Lumber City, GA for most of her life. She attended the Telfair County School System. She was married to Stacy McRae.
She was member of the House of Prayer by Faith Inc. of Lumber City, GA, under the leadership of Pastor Laura Clemons. She served as the church's announcer and worked on the Usher Board. She was a CNA for many years, working at the Lumber City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Appling Nursing and Rehabilitation Pavilion in Baxley, Georgia.
Gidget was a woman of hospitality. She had a heart of loving, helping, and caring for others, whether young or old. Her greatest love and joy were for her grandchildren, whom she lived and worked to make happy.
Her parents, Frankie Lee and Jinnie Mae Chieves Clemons; her grandparents, Earnest Sr. and Lucille Conaway Clemons and Willie Abery and Lillie Mae Pace Chieves preceded her in death.
She leaves many beautiful memories to her devoted and long-time companion, Steve Simpson of Lumber City, GA; a son, DaMarcus (Melanie Tucker) Mincey of Milan, GA; daughters, Demetria (Xavier Durant) McRae and Aurtavia (Benji Sampson) McRae, both of Lumber City, GA; stepson, Stacy Robinson of Hazlehurst, GA; The joy of her life, the grands: Jaquan Smiley, Jason Worthen, Jr., Heiress McRae, Tymetrius Worthen, Jaquavious Sampson, Chase and Caylix Mincey, Angelina Robinson, and Ariyanna Clark.
