Hazel Irene Eason

March 19, 1941 — June 18, 2022

Hazel was born in Lumber City, Georgia on March 19, 1941 to the late Thad and Ardell Stokes. Hazel was educated in the Telfair County School System. She was a basketball player and prior to graduation, married Willie Robert Eason at the age of 15. She was preceded in death by her husband just short of their 40th wedding anniversary. To this union was born two children. After leaving Lumber City for Cleveland, Ohio, Hazel took on several jobs including, Soda Shop Attendant and Key Punch Operator/Data Entry prior to her final position as a manager for a Credit Counseling Firm. Hazel worked lovingly for the Lord for over 25 years at Christian Fellowship Center in Cleveland as an Usher, Intercessory Prayer Warrior and the special group called the W.I.G.S., Women in God's Service. After moving back to Georgia, she became one of the Church Mothers at The Word International Worship Center, Inc. She loved her newfound Pastors, church members and especially the Praise and Worship. A very special shout out goes to a very special sister -in law, Joanne West, and nephew, Dewayne Eason, who are lovingly called the "Three Amigos." We are forever grateful for how they took care of our mother. Taking her shopping, taking care of her trash, just always being there for her and mostly for worshipping together. Hazel, went to sleep in Jesus peacefully at her daughter's home on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Four sisters preceded her in death: Johnnie Mae, Hilda, Yvonne and Janice. Loving memories of Hazel will rest in the hearts of her children: Tony (TBone) Eason and Tonyia (Charles) Collins; grandchildren: Tiana Collins, DeAngelo (Kym) Collins and Michael Jones; greatgrandchildren: Kaleb Robinson, Nicolas Collins and Jeremiah Archie; two siblings: Alice Faye Tuggles and Althonia Stokes; brother s and sisters -in -law and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
