Henry Lee Montgomery

September 18, 1943 — September 6, 2021

Henry Lee Montgomery was born September 18,1943 to Mary Montgomery and Aile Horne. He was on of six siblings. He graduated from Richarson Highschool. After he granduated he joined the Army and started his career. During his time in the Army, he met his wife, Earnestine. They met on a Greyhound bus. The dated for 48 days and he asked for her hand in marriage. They married on February 12, 1966. They have two children Sean and Dawn. They traveled the world and after 22 years of honorable service, he retired to begin a 23 year at NASA. He was a working man who supported his family. He retired and kept busy in his yard. A story shared by my mother about when it would rain, he would go outside and wait for it to stop. He would lean over to see if the grass had grown and he would "crank it up". A man with a life dedicated to Christ. He told his mother that he was either gonna serve God or serve the devil, he wasn't going to straddle the fence. When he rededicated his life, he said he was gong to strictly serve God and that's what he did. Henry Lee Montgomery was about FAMILY! He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years, Earnestine Montgomery. Two children, Sean and Dawn Montgomery. Eight grandchildren; Todashia Montgomery, Lequesha Montgomery, Kaai Montgomery, Tyeisha Jones, Nysean Montgomery (deceased), Skylar Montgomery, Quinndon Montgomery, Caliyah Edwards and eight great grandchildren. His beloved sister, Susie Montgomery of Tampa, FL and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved. Visitation was held on September 17, 2021. A funeral service was held on September 18, 2021 at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Glennville, GA. Interment was September 20, 2021 at Georgia Veterans Cemetery, Glennville, GA.
