James Alexander Cain Sr. was born on October 1, 1955
to the late Mr. James Lee Cain and Mrs. Mildred G. Cain. He
departed this life on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at the Azalea
Health and Rehabilitation Center in Augusta, GA.
James was occasionally called, "Bulldog" by classmates as
well as friends.
James joined the First African Missionary Baptist Church in
Glennville, GA at an early age under the leadership of the late
Rev. E. J. Junior.
He was educated in the Tattnall County, GA school system
graduating from Glennville High School in 1974. James
loved sports and was an outstanding athlete. He played football in both Middle and High School.
James was previously married to Synthia Alston (Cain) . They
were wed in November, 1974. To this union two children
were born, Stephanie Renee' Cain and James Alexander Cain,
Jr.
After graduation from High School, James enlisted in the
United States Army, serving his country for 15 years. James
did tours of duties at several bases in the United States and
two tours of duty in Germany. He earned many Medals and
Certificates and was honorably discharged medically.
In his later years, James accepted Christ as his personal
Saviour. Thank God for his recent years of confessing and acknowledging Christ in his life. After his military career James held many occupations to include
culinary services, displaying his great cooking skills. He was a talented chef. He also was a truck driver for many companies to include J. B. Hunt. Driving for companies enabled James to travel to
many different states in the U.S. and Canada.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee and Mildred
Cain; one brother, Michael A. Cain; a grandson, SeQuan Dominique
Cain; and one brother-in-law, Jeffrey Paul Horton, Sr.
Memories of James will be forever cherished by his beloved children, Stephanie Renee' Cain, James Alexander Cain, Jr. both of
Decatur, GA; Alexandria Ellison (Tonya) of Lawrenceville, GA,
Jacquelyn Grant(Derrick) of Winterhaven, FL; Calandra Smith of
Glennville, GA and Toby Smith of Avondale, AR.
Grandchildren; Dante' Cain. Tynique Tigner, Nicholas Smith,
Demetrius Smith, Amaryon Smith, Diontrae' Grant, Josiah Grant
and Destiny Grant. Two great-great grandchildren. Five beloved
sisters all of Glennville, GA; Patricia A. Cain, Jimmie N. Cain, Toni
L. Cain, Jacquelyn D. Cain Horton, and Sheila(Gary) Garrett.
Memories will also be remembered by many beloved nieces,
nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other family members and friends.
He will also be remembered by one sister-in-law and three brothersin-law.
A special thanks to James' beloved niece, Ms. Tennille C. Cain for
being a caregiver and her outstanding support.
