James Early Vann, Sr.

Deacon James E. Vann, Sr. departed this life on September 20, 2022. Deacon Vann was born July 5, 1933 in Baxley, GA to the parentage of the late Horace and Mary Vann.

Deacon Vann, Sr. was a member of the New Jerusalem Witness unto the Lord Church under the leadership of Overseer Sarah R. Mims.

Deacon Vann was united in holy matrimony to the late Clara Lee Vann. From this union seven children were born.

Deacon Vann was preceded in death by his loving wife: Clara Lee Vann, a sister; Sadie Vann, six brothers; Clayton, Claxton, Lester, Emory, Buster, and Baron Vann.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three sons; James Vann, Jr. (Betty), Robert Vann of Baxley, GA and Lee Willis Vann of Graham, GA. Four daughters; Gloria Hill (Jimmy) of Baxley, GA, Betty Wallace (Virgil), Graham, GA, Cassia Cooper, Baxley, GA, Elouise Conaway, Hazlehurst, GA, Twelve grandchildren; Chris McMillan, Teddy Vann, Cynthia Ryals, Serria Godfey, Donovan Chatman, Ferdinand Gibbs, Frances Ellis, Kevin Cooper, Chelsea Thompson, Maiya Conaway, Jasmine Cooper; Twenty-five great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, One brother; Findley Vann, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
