Sister Janie Jordan Jinks was born in Glennville, Georgia on January 6, 1918, to the late William and Lilla Jordan. She was the oldest of seven children; three brothers, Lucious, Sr.,
Rollie and Wilt; three sisters, Rebecca, Lucy, and Chaney who preceded her in death.
She joined the Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of the late T..J. Lynch. She served on the Usher Ministry, Culinary Ministry and worked with the Mission Ministry.
She was a Life Member of Star of Glennville No. 162.
She was joined matrimony to the late Eddie (E.C.) Jinks on February 12, 1936.
Mom Janie reared many children and made many sweet potato pies for everyone. No one ever left her home hungry.
Janie leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, a loving and ever devoted daughter, Doris (Reginald) Riley of Reidsville, GA; Two granddaughters whom she adored, Donna Youngblood and Regina Johnson of Glennville, GA; doting great-grandchildren, De Andreia Youngblood-Doe of Atlanta, GA, Danielle Youngblood of Glennville, GA, Darius Johnson of Valdosta, GA, DeMarco Johnson of Glennville, GA, Brittany Tippins of Atlanta, GA and Shawn Hankerson of Glennville, GA. A great-great grandchild, D'Andre Knight of Glennville, GA. Two sisters-in-law, Christine Jinks of Myrtle Beach, SC and Katherine Middleton of Glennville, GA and one godson, Harry Scott of Collins, GA. She will be missed by numerous children she reared in her home, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
