Jessica (Bacon-Nails) Rivers

Jessica (Bacon-Nails) Rivers was born June 16, 1978, in Statesboro, Georgia to Martha Ja'Nette Bacon and Matthew Bacon (deceased). She grew up learning about the Lord under her family patriarch, Sr. Bishop Bennie Bacon Sr. at White Pines Holiness Church in Glennville, GA where she participated in the youth choir and all the church plays. She attended middle and high school in Tattnall County where she excelled academically. Upon entering adulthood, she began a career in academia, with various administrative support roles for both the Toombs County and Bulloch County school systems. All the while, she continued to grow her faith and relationship with God and solidified her commitment to making a difference in her community. For several years, she attended Glennville First United Pentecostal Church and Crossroads Community Church of God, Statesboro GA. She had a special way of meeting people and helping them to connect with their unique purpose. All who encountered her were impacted by her beautiful smile, dynamic personality, zest for life, fearless tenacity, witty sense of humor, strong faith, and unwavering love for God. Her life exemplified "God first", and her family second. She and her husband, Eric Rivers, launched True North Ministries in April 2023.

In 2019, as a resident of Statesboro, GA, Jessica became an entrepreneur, launching a successful life and health insurance company, Leve7Up Health and Wealth Group. In April of 2021, she was diagnosed with a terminal illness, which she fought with a warrior's spirit until the time of her passing on December 30, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband Erick Rivers, her mother Martha Ja'Nette McKinney; 3 sisters Jennifer B. McCollum, Jenessa McKinney, Marissa McKinney; 1 brother Caleb McKinney; 3 daughters TyShaila Bacon, Desiree Bacon, Mariah Nails, 1 son Jordan Nails, 3 grandsons, and her large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
