JOAN BACON FOSTER, was born in Claxton, GA on May
23, 1955, to the late Rufus and Beatrice Timmons-Bacon. She
was the youngest of eight siblings.
Joan graduated from Glennville High School, Class of 1973.
She attended a community college in San Francisco, CA and
started the hobby of jazz-ballet. Afterwards she returned
to Glennville, GA where she married Mikell Foster, Sr. and
together they raised three children.
Joan joined Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church at a
young age, where she sang in the choir, loved to play drums.
She was an entertainer who also loved to cook, fish, dance.
Joan enjoyed flowers, baking, gold fish and it was a must that
she had her nails polished. Most of all Joan loved making
people happy.
She is now at peace with the Lord and has joined her daughter,
Mikellyn Foster; and siblings, Marie Boyd, Postell Boyd, Elzie
Bacon and Robert Bacon.
She is survived by: daughter, Leawanna (Travis) Foster-Bacon,
Kennesaw, GA; son, Mikell Foster, Jr., Reidsville, GA; stepson,
Tellas Kennedy, Glennville, GA; two sisters, Johnnie Keels
of Manteca, CA and Julia Bacon, Glennville, GA; two brothers,
Lester (Peggy) Bacon, Sr. and Bishop Bennie (Martha) Bacon
both of Glennville, GA; sisters-in-laws, Lois Bacon, Reidsville,
GA, Williama Richardson, Glennville, GA and Sharon Foster,
Millen, GA; brother-in-law, John Foster, Savannah, GA;
grandchildren, Heaven Bacon, Hailey Bacon, Travis Bacon,
Jr., Taelyn Bacon, Anavia Monroe, Nicholas Foster, King
Foster, Milaya Johnson and Charm Foster; great grandchild,
Princeton Sire Warner; and a host of special nieces, nephews,
cousins, neighbors and friends.
