Mrs. Juanita Arthur Jinks departed this life on August 31, 2021, at Evans Memorial Medical Center in Claxton, GA after a brief illness. She was born, February 2, 1953, to Leola Bethea Arthur and the late Fletcher Arthur, Sr. Juanita was educated in the public school system of Tattnall County, GA, and graduated from Glennville High School in 1971. She attended Georgia Southern University. Juanita developed a love of sports and became a huge fan of Glennville's local teams as well as Georgia's home teams at the national and collegiate levels. In 1975, Juanita was joined in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Donald "Donnell" Jinks, Sr., a union that produced their only son, Donald, Jr. She began employment in factory work, and later began a career at the Georgia Department of Corrections, where she gained meaningful experience, developed lifelong friendships with coworkers, and later retired.
Juanita joined Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church as a child under the leadership of Rev. T.J. Lynch, where she was baptized. She later joined St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. W.C. Mobley. In her adulthood, Juanita became a member of First African Missionary Baptist Church (FAB) under the leadership of Rev. Martin Bacon, Sr. She continued to strengthen her faith & love for Jesus Christ, maintaining a faithful and active membership until the time of her transition under the leadership of both Rev. Clarence Boles, Jr. and Rev. Derrick Ryals. Very active in her community and her church, Juanita served as the financial secretary for FAB for many years, as well as produced programs and flyers for multiple special events. She most recently served as the secretary of the Tattnall Missionary Baptist Association under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Artis Carswell, Jr.
In her community, Juanita used her gifts serving as the Assistant Secretary for the Tattnall County NAACP, Branch 5640. She was also an active volunteer, founding member and served on the board for the High School Graduate Culmination Committee. She continued her work with the Community Support Center Inc. and DUI School where she trained others in her acumen for financial organization and task management. Juanita continued to use her gifts in her own business, Juanita Arthur Jinks Printz, where she lovingly created obituaries, business cards, flyers, posters, programs, etc. for local families and businesses in the surrounding area.
Juanita was a true woman of God, often encouraging others to be their better selves, always keeping God at the forefront. She never missed an opportunity to laugh and find clever humor in situations, a character trait, which her family adored. She never minced words, and she always shared her perspectives firmly, but lovingly. The eldest child of ten siblings, Juanita took on her role with pride and protective leadership, believing "with seniority comes authority", of which her siblings lovingly allowed. Her contributions to her family as lead organizer and project manager extraordinaire will truly be missed. It was her wisdom, kindness, Godliness, witty boldness, sassiness, and outspoken nature that constantly drew people to her and sparked long-lasting, loving connections with family and friends. To know her, was to love her.
