Lakia Cheree Butler White

Lakia Cheree Butler White, age 49, of Statesboro, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on April 9, 2026.

Lakia was born in Piscataway, New Jersey, and was the beloved daughter of the late Leroy Butler, Jr. and the late Pam Hagan. She was educated in the Tattnall County School System and was a proud member of the Class of 1994.

Lakia was known for her bright, bubbly personality and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a deep love for her family and friends and cherished every moment spent with them. She found great joy in cooking and listening to music, often creating an atmosphere filled with love, laughter, and comfort. Her kind spirit and warm heart left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving children: Steven B. Carswell, Jr., Elijah S. Culver (Emily), and Lauryn E. Carswell; one cherished grandson, Omarius Thomas; a special friend, Darvin Benjamin Jr.; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will continue to honor her life and legacy.

Though Lakia’s earthly journey has ended, we take comfort in God’s promise that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Her light will continue to shine through all who knew and loved her.
