Linda "Lynn" LeVant Jenks was born on May 22nd, 1961, to Janie Mae Lavant Simpson and George H. King, Sr. in Glennville, Georgia. She attended Tattnall County Public Schools and graduated from Glennville High School in 1979. At an early age, Linda accepted Christ as her personal Savior and walked with Him hand and hand throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Zion Temple Church of Christ in Glennville, Georgia. She also attended First African Missionary Baptist Church in Glennville, Georgia and New Bethel Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Act II
In 1983, Linda's family grew with the birth of her beautiful daughter, Lori Marie Jenks. In 1990, a second blessing was added with the birth of her first son, Quentin Sydney Jenks. In 1991, she met the love of her life, Alonzo Richardson, whom she cherished and was lovingly devoted to. They shared an unbreakable bond fueled by a profound love that transcends labels. In 1996, Linda's family was complete when she and Alonzo welcomed her youngest son, Zachary Alexander Richardson. She was blessed with the light of her heart in 2004, her grandson, Christopher Sean Jenks (Toot-Toot). Their relationship was one of adoration, devotion, laughter, and love.
Linda was an amazing mother who adored her children. She encouraged them to dream big and loved them beyond measure. Linda and Alonzo shared an amazing life together raising their family in a home filled with love.
Act III
Linda entered the military in 1986 as an Equipment Records Parts Specialist. She served her country proudly and with honor. She was recognized and received the following awards: Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Rifle M16 Qualification Badge (Marksman) and Army Lapel Button. She completed an overseas tour of duty in Germany.
Act IV
Linda received the call to be received by our Heavenly Father as she left her earthly home on June 11th, 2023, surrounded by family, and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Janie Mae Lavant Simpson and George H. King, Sr., her maternal grandparents, Marzie Lavant and James "Buddy" Lavant, and Almeta Byrd Lavant, paternal grandparents, Lillian M. Coleman and Charles Coleman, and George King, aunt, Sarah Coleman Wilcox, uncles, James Scott, Frank Scott, Larry Scott, Arthur Scott, Randolph Scott, and Robert Lee Scott, her brother, Anthony King, her son, Quentin Sydney Jenks, and godparents; Catherine and Harold Armstrong.
She leaves behind to carry on her legacy of love, her beloved daughter, Lori Marie Jenks, caring son, Zachary Alexander Richardson, devoted grandson, Christopher Sean Jenks; the love of her life, Alonzo Richardson and Mother in Love Barbara Richardson; brothers George H. King, Jr. (Barbara), Larry Simpson, and Tony Harris; sister, Mary Simpson; nieces, Almetter Simpson, Samantha Simpson, Natasha Johnson, Delores Johnson, Ashley Fussell (Jervis), Shantel Johnson; nephews, George Johnson (Vanicia), Jermaine Johnson (Katina), Johnathan Johnson and Larcel Brown; aunts, Mary Williams (John), Evelyn Williams, Marilyn King and Diann Roberts; uncles, Johnnie Lavant, James Lavant, Jr., Richard Lavant, Jessie Lavant, Neil King, Tiny King and Petey King; very special god sister; Vondell LeVant (Gary); god daughters, Anita Wiggins (Craig), Amy LeVant, Sophia Arthur, Sonya Arthur, Sandy King (Micah), and Caron Davis; god son, Justin Davis; surrogate daughter, Katis Prudencio (Anibal); surrogate sons, Lee Carney and Malik Vines; surrogate grandchildren, Stephanie Moran, Carla Prudencio, Maria Prudencio; dear and beloved friends, Ms. Penny, Stephanie Davis (Brian), Quentin Archer, Ms. Joan Addison, Ms. Sharon Davis, Ms. Carol and Ms. Denise and a host of other family and friends.
