August 4, 1937 — March 4, 2022

Mrs. Lizzie Mae Cook-Moody, a native of Screven County Georgia, was born to the late Sam and Liza Cook on August 4th 1937. She had two sisters and seven brothers, one of which was James, her twin ("Qwin"). Lizzie spent her early years in Dover, Vidalia, and Glennville. She enjoyed traveling, attending family reunions, church conferences and conventions, as well as using the phone as her main line for staying connected with family and friends. She was a devoted Christian throughout her life, with longstanding memberships at Bible Way Church in New Rochelle, NY, later at Beulah Church of God & Christ Jesus in Brooklyn, NY and upon returning to Glennville later in life, she became a member of Pillar in Zion in Walthourville, GA. Throughout her Christian journey, she served as usher, pastor's aid, choir member, missionary, and church mother. She is preceded in death by her husband Rufus L. Moody and siblings Sam Cook and James (Joanne) Cook. She leaves behind three children: Rufus J. (Joanie), Caimbria (Burlon), Jacqueline (Ronnie); grandchildren: Kyle, Terence, Jaron, Jakeise, Nicole, Jamie; great grandchildren: Ariyana, Kameron, Zyaire, Kianna, Siobhan; siblings: Seaborn (Nellie) Cook, John Cook, Charlie (Dorothy) Cook, JoeNathan (Corethia) Cook, William (Carolyn) Cook, Liza Gant, Ruth Graham; sister-in-law Ella; in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
