Margie Elizabeth Kelley

Ms. Margie Elizabeth Kelley was born in Jeff Davis County on June 20, 1950 to Elizabeth Knox and the late Johnny Lee Knox. She passed into eternal rest on December 18, 2018 at Christian City Nursing and Rehab. Ms. Kelly received a degree in Food and Nutrition at Savannah State University, where she also became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. She also received a degree from Brewton – Parker College in Early Childhood Education. She taught Kindergarten for three years at Montgomery County Public Schools and Pre-K at Easter Seals North Georgia, Inc., where she retired after many years of service. She was united in holy matrimony to Andrew Kelley who preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother Elizabeth Knox, Hazlehurst, Georgia; a son Dexter (Charlette); two grandsons, Dexter Jr. and Chauncey, all of Atlanta, Georgia; a brother Harold Knox, Hazlehurst, Georgia; a sister Geneva Knox, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; two sisters and three brothers preceded her in death: Barbara King, Laretta Holmes, Cecil Knox, Elijah Knox, Sr., and Johnny Lee Knox, Jr.; a longtime friend George Moore of Atlanta, Georgia. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
