Mary Kornegay

Mary was born in Hazlehurst, Georgia on Sunday, May 14, 1933, to the parentage of the lae Willie Sanders and Matilda Henry. Mary spent years in New York before moving to Florida. She was of of 13 children. She was married to the late James (Jay) Korneygay. Together they had one child Mary L. (Pennie) Kornegay. Mary departed this life on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the Courtyards of Orlando; in Orlando, Fl. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie Sanders and Matilda Henry, husband, James (Jay) Kornegay, granddaughter, Cynthia Kornegay. Sisters, Lola McDuffie, Ophelia Brody, Elizabeth Conaway, and Earleen Sanders. Brothers, J.T. Henry, Clarance Henry, Thomas Henry, Roberty Henry, Early Sanders, Wilbert Sanders, and Mitchell Lee Sanders. She leaves to cherish daughter, Mary L. (Thomas) Campbell, DeLand, FL, Grandson Ingraham (Tiffany) Ibrahim, Orlando, FL. Three grandsons Justin (JT) Ibrahim, Elijah (Eli) Ibrahim, and Ayden (AA) Ibrahim, all of Orlando, FL. And brother Charles Sanders, of Hazlehurst, GA.. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; and friends and family that will always remember her as none other than, "Santa Claus."
