Mother Louise Barney Williams was born in Jeff Davis County, Georgia on September 6, 1922 to the late Mr. McKinnley and Mrs. Althealour Barney.
She married the love of her life, the late Obie Williams. The two were united in holy matrimony on January 8, 1936. They were married for 77 years before his passing. She was a faithful member of Tallahassee Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board, as a Deaconess, and sang in the Choir. Mother Williams was known as a prayer warrior, a faithful friend, a wonderful neighbor, and loved in the community. She was a homemaker, as well as a caregiver, not only to her family, but to anyone who stopped by for a meal, prayer or fellowship. As the saying goes her doors were always open and she always had enough love to go around.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Obie; four sons: Wendell, John, Roedon, and Obie Linder Williams; one daughter, Linda Campbell; three sisters: Ida, Marilyn, and Catherine; four brothers: Joe, Billy, Charles, and Bobby; two sons-in-law, Prince Garnes, and Lamar Parker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Larry (Sandra) Williams of Vidalia, GA; four daughters: Inez Garnes of Hazlehurst, GA; Doris Parker of Baxley, GA; Elvonia Williams of Augusta, GA; Pam (Victor) Jackson of Conyers, GA. Four daughters-in-law: Barbara Williams of Hazlehurst, GA, Minnie Williams of Decatur, GA; Faye Williams of Ludowici, GA; Johnnie Luke Williams of Uvalda, GA; one brother, Jimmy (Jean) Barney of Atlanta, GA. 45 grandchildren, 105 great grandchildren, and 30 great, great grandchildren.
