Norman Lee King, Jr., was born to the parents of Norman Lee King, Sr., and Vera Mae Pearce King on September 24, 1960 in the city of Waycross, State of GA. His parents moved to Gifford, Florida where he attended elementary school in Gifford and Vero Beach. He continued his middle and high school education in Ft. Pierce, FL. Norman entered Job Core in 1978 to continue his education and learn a trade. He earned a certification in Bakery.
In June 1978, his only son Norman Lee King III, was born. In May 1979 he joined The Army National Guard in Vero Beach, Florida, where he served as a Heavy Truck Operator for 6 years. In March 1981, his only daughter, Ebony Sheree Saunders, was born. Norman spent most of his life on the Florida Treasure Coast. While living in Indiantown he met Debra R. Vasser, and her son Chris, whom he married in 1987.
Norman was raised up in Church of God Northside, Vero Beach FL, and throughout his life he continued to turn to God - for he knew that all his help came from above. As a young adult he served as a choir member at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Vero Beach under the pastoral leadership of his grandfather, Reverend Dr. Jim B. Pearce Sr. He moved to Waycross Georgia in 2016, where he united with Hebron Ministry House of Refuge Church, under the leadership of Reverend Gloria J. Oden (his sister). There he served as the Superintendent of Sunday School until his death.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert Lee and Ella Mae King; his maternal grandparents, Rev. Dr. Jim Brown and Prophetess Jannie Pearl Cooper Pearce; his father Norman Lee King Sr., his brother David Lucious King, and his daughter Ebony Sheree Saunders.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Vera Mae Pearce Thorpe; his son, Norman L. King, III (Deidre); two sisters - Brenita Stultz (Steven) and Gloria J. Oden (Riley); three brothers - Christopher M. King (Angela), Michael A. Slaughter (LaKinda), and stepbrother Carl Slaughter (Dorothy). His stepson Chris and his estranged wife, Debra King. He also leaves twenty-two uncles; 23 aunts; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and longtime friend Clara Moody.
