Dorothy Grant was born January 31, 1950 in Sylvania, Georgia to Annie Bell Williams-Grant and Hilton "Son" Grant Sr. Pastor Grant became absent from resent with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in Augusta, Georgia.
Throughout her life in early childhood, she was raised in Sylvania, Georgia, then the family relocated to Gooseneck community in Glennville, Georgia where she resided until adulthood. She attended Tattnall County Industrial School. She was a co-pastor of Little Rock Holiness Church and Yahweh Apostolic Ministry until God led her to become the pastor of New Birth Holiness Church in Glennville.
Pastor Dorothy was well known as "Dot". She was well known for her singing and being part of the Grant Family singing group. Being part of the singing group, they traveled the southeast regions singing the gospel. Growing up she was a daddy's girl. She was known for being a comforter and spreading the gospel. Some hobbies she enjoyed were singing with her children, planting flowers, baking cakes, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her passion was overall was her flowers. She was abundantly loved and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Annie Bell Williams-Grant and Hilton "Son" Grant Sr; sisters: Joyce-eva, Janice, Mayhilda, Katherine, and Mildred; brothers: Weston, Stanley, Rayfield; children Affia, Jeffrey, and Charles.
Her surviving family members are numerous, but mainly includes her children Teresa (Michael) Murphy, Julie (Eddie) Swient, Dottie (Patrick) Montgomery, Jack (Tierra) Grant; sister Ruby (Pete) Johnson, brother Hilton (Catherine) Grant Jr; Her bonus child Ayden Grant. Including her 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.
Unfortunately, too many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and God-children to list or even count.
