Phelicia Ann Chatman entered into eternal rest on August 27, 2014, at the East Georgia Regional Hospital. She was born March 18, 1953, to the late Author T. and Roxie Howell. She attended school in Wheeler County, and was a 1971 graduate of Telfair High School, McRae, Georgia.
She joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where she served as Senior Choir President for several years. Later, she moved her membership to Greater Hall Temple #2, Hazlehurst, Georgia, where she was an active member and served as church clerk until her health failed.
Four siblings preceded her in death, Joyce, Uhlys, Jeanette, and Author. She met and married Aaron Vann and to this union one son was born. Laer, she met and married Turner Chatman and to this union two sons were born.
Phelicia's work experience was at Alamo Shirt Factory, Alamo, Georgia and Hazlehurst Mills, Hazlehurst, GA.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: Children, Derrick (Cathy), Turner, and Lavon. Three sisters: Winnie P. Byrdsell, Marjorie (Earl) Clemons, East Orange, NJ; Ms. Francine Severe, Lumber City, GA. Two brothers: Felton Howell, Lumber City, GA and Emory Howell, Orange, NJ.
Three grands: Derius, Brandon, and Marcus. One special grand daughter, Josiah. One special Aunt, Sister Beatrice King and two special friends, Loretta King and Gloria Edwards.
A host of many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and classmates.
