Rebecca Mincey

December 16, 1946 — May 10, 2019

Rebecca Jordan Mincey known as "Becky" was born December 16, 1946 to the late Mr. Lucious Jordan, Sr. and Mrs. Sallie Fair Jordan. She was reared in the White Pine Community where she resided until the last 12 years of her, where she resided in Claxton, GA with her son. Rebecca gained her heavenly wings May 10, 2019 at Meadows Regional Hospital, Vidalia, GA. She was educated in the Public-School system of Tattnall County, Georgia. She graduated in 1965 from Tattnall County Industrial High School in Reidsville, Georgia. On June 24, 1967 Becky was united in Holy Matrimony to Fenton N. Mincey. They were blessed with two children. She joined the Greater Zachariah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T. J. Lynch. Beck exemplified great morals and values. Becky excepted Christ at an early age and moved her membership to Oak Grove A.M.E. church in Manassas, GA where she served faithfully as an usher. She was employed as an USDA Inspector for many years until her health declined. She was a dedicated and hard worker in which she instilled in her children. Becky was a sweet, kind, genuine and humbled spirit woman. She was quiet and very soft spoken. She never complained about anything. She was also known for "Becky's Banana Pudding and Red Velvet Cakes." She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious and Sallie Jordan; her husband, Fenton N. Mincey; brothers, William and Wilbert Jordan. She leaves to cherish her loving memories two children whom she loved unconditionally; a daughter, Mrs. Carlinda Mincey-Woodford(Dennis), Louisville, KY; a son, Mr. Stanley Gerard Mincey (Debra), Claxton, GA; two grandsons she simply adored, Keith Waters and Stevin Mincey. She also leaves her siblings; one brother, Lucious Jordan, Jr.; three sisters, Ruth Chapman, Carolyn Cook (William), and Mildred Mincey, Glennville, GA; one aunt, Janie Jinks, Glennville, GA; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Cora Brown (Thurman), San Antonio, TX, Ms. Betty Mincey, Richmond, VA, Ms. Marilyn Jordan and Ms. Beautine Mincey, Glennville, GA. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
