Mother Rosa Mae Tobler was born on February 9, 1939 to the late Willie Avery and Lillie Mae Pace Chieves of Lumber City, Georgia.
She passed away peacefully on January 31, 2025 in Jacksonville, FL.
She attended Lumber City schools. She was employed at Hazlehurst Mills for many years until she retired. She was a faithful member and the church mother of the House of Prayer by Faith in Lumber City, Georgia, where her niece, Pastor Laura Clemons, served as her pastor. She loved to sing and play the drums.
Rosa was known for being the life of party and always have a funny story. She also had many pictures to share and if she didn't, she had a camera or video camera to get pictures of everybody. Her love and personality will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Quilla Tobler Sr., two sisters: Marie McCowan and Ophelia Plummer, Brothers: John, Marvin, Theartis, James, Frankie, and Bobby Joe Chieves.
She leaves the cherished memories of her to her two children: Nadine Tobler of Lumber City, Ga and Quilla (Lawanna) Tobler of Jacksonville, Fl. Four grandchildren: Quilla T. Tobler, Demaurius "Maury" Tobler, Shequilla Demery, Latoria Gibson, Tareka Shuman and Kevin Covert. Great Grandchildren: Kennedi, Anthony, Antaniah, Zytoria, Bryce, Londyn and Kai. One Godson, Patrick Joyner.
She has one sister, Annie Young of Atlanta. Four Sister-in-Laws: Mary Salem, Hattie Lee Stegall, Eloise Tobler, and Jackie Wolfolk(Tabo) Two Brother-in-Laws: Herman Tobler and Bob Tobler. Aunts: Tommie Lee Batten and Mildred Hester.
She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
