Pedro

Earnestly and humbly, we lay to rest our love one Rufus James Moody, affectionately known as "Pedro" to family. He passed away on March 29 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah GA.

He was born to the late Rufus Moody and Lizzie Moody on January 9,1958 in Claxton, Ga. That same year, his parents relocated to NY, where Rufus was educated in the New Rochelle public school system. He graduated from NRHS in 1976.

Rufus had such a gift of gab, most believed he missed his calling. He was employed by The Barkleys Banking System and NY Postal Services. He would later use those skills and mindset in a variety of ventures.

While seeking his assignment, his aspiration and relationships molded him into the man he became. He had a genuine fascination for musicianship, playing the drums for various churches (Bibleway of New Rochelle NY, Taylor Chapel Missionary Baptist of Vallejo, CA and Pillar of Zion of Walthourville, GA. Rufus was a devoted son, who was his mother's caregiver for 10 plus years until she passed just one year and 25 days his passing.

Rufus was betrothed to the Love of his life Joan Rhodes who he remained in love with.

He leaves to cherish his memory; two sons; Kyle R. Moody (Amanda) and Jamie Reed; three acquired daughters; Kisha, Ebony, and Charmaine, two grands; Kameron and Kianna Grace, six acquired grands; Marcus, Devin, Maleah, Malaysia, Kayla, and Kendall, three nephews; Terrance, Jaron, and Jakeise, one niece; Nicole, one great Niece; Siobhan, 1 god- sister; Tracey. In addition to a Host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
