On October 13, 2023, Sylvester received his wings, and we lost a beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Sylvester was born on May 18, 1941, to his mother, Mabel Boyd, and father, Theo McKinnies. Nelson Williams later raised him.
Sylvester attended St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church for many years before joining Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained and served many years as a Deacon.
He was preceded in death by both of his biological parents Theo McKinnies, and Mabel Parker, and his adopted father Nelson Williams. Also, preceding in death are his siblings, Theo McKinnies Jr, Terry McKinnies, and Toney McKinnies
.
He leaves behind as follows: Daughters Sherolde Hackett (Eric) and Lottie Grant (Zaccurrus); Granddaughters Ashley Valatka (Chris), Unique Pierce, Keriyanna Bell, and Taylor Grant; Grandsons Elizhia Bell and Zaccurrus Grant, Jr, Great-Grandson Christopher Thomas Valatka. Brothers Venyord Parker, Nathaniel Parker (Charmaine), Wayne Lamar McKinnies, and Cecil Parker (Gail); Sisters Sheila Williams, Betty McKinnies, Esther McKinnies, and Lynette Lindsey. Adopted Sister Dorothy Williams Randolph. Also, remaining and beloved are a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
