Velvet Patricia Green

October 4, 1965 — November 24, 2020

The Life of Velvet Green A Time To Be Born: On October 5, 1965, in Glennville, Georgia a bouncing baby girl named Velvet Green was gifted to the lives of Eyudella Denise Hall and Frank Sheppard. A Time To Live: Velvet received her education through the Tattnall County Public School system. She spent many years in Glennville, Georgia where she met many people and touched many lives. She later relocated to Atlanta, Georgia until her final days. Velvet loved to go fishing, playing cards, cooking and most of all spending time with her family. Our dearly beloved Velvet will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, her robust laughter, the radiance she illuminated was indicative of the happiness she felt when making others laugh. Kind, free hearted, generous & loving that was Velvet. She was honorable, her word was her bond. On November 24, 2020, God saw that she had fought a good fight, she had finished her course and she surely kept the faith. He gently whispered, "well done daughter, it's time you take your rest". God gently closed her eyes and removed her from this earthly tabernacle and placed her in his beautiful rose garden. A Time To Cherish: Velvet was preceded in death by her mother, Eyudella Denise Hall; son, Eric Sheppard; sister, Valonda Smith; and nephew, Tavarus Miller. Left to cherish her legacy of memories, husband, Charles Hopkins; daughter, Blair Grant (Ramon); son, Garrett Grant (Kiandria); grandchildren, Trayvon Hollinger, Tyler Grant, Queen ' Bayle Robinson, Aryka Dames, Anijah Douglas, Kayden King, and Kaisley King; siblings, Frankie Sheppard, Carletha Nixon (Lavell), Sylvia Mincey, Barbara Ann Sheppard; Nieces, Ahjane Davis, Ravin Levingston, Shamae Ceaser, Shaneequa Lee, and Shaneeda Lawson; nephews, Robert Davis, Dayshun Davis, Carl Davis, Eric Sheppard, Donel Mincey and Jeremy Mincey; special niece, Jamiya Norris; special aunt, Helen Hall; special friend, Eric Grant; mother-in-law, Beatrice Hopkins, brother-in-law, Leonardo Hopkins; along with a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
