Life's Journey
Some Glad morning when this life is over. I will fly away. Who can find a Virtuous Woman? For her worth is far above rubies. The heart of her husband safely trusts in her, so that he will have no lack of gain. Strength and honour are her clothing, and she shall rejoice in time to come. she openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
The Legacy Begins
Sister Verliary Rainey was born in Montgomery County, Georgia October 4, 1952 to the late Eddie Lee Jackson Sr. and Cora Lee Jackson.
She was a hard fighting soldier on the battlefield of the Lord and labored as a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Uvalda, Georgia. She had a strong work ethic and it was demonstrated in her work history. She was employed for numerous years at Emerson Electric (ALCO) and Hazlehurst Center with Healthcare Services in the Laundry area. She was a songbird for the Lord and made a joyful noise as a member of the Uvalda Community Choir.
Sister Verilary embraced Dr. King ideology in her daily walk "If I can help somebody as I pass along, if I can cheer somebody with a word or a song. If I can show somebody he's traveling wrong. Then my living will not be in vain. Sister Verliary was a modern-day Florence Nightingale to her family, friends and neighbors until her health began to decline.
She departed this life January 28, 2023, in East Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by James C. Jackson, Charlie Lee Jackson, Eddie Lee Jackson Jr., Eddie James Jackson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Gregory Rainey, Sr and two children, Teru Rainey-Parker (Damon Parker), and Gregory Rainey Jr. (Lashara). Grandchildren Gabrielle B Wilson, Kaylee Rainey, Noah Parker, Aleah Parker and Madison Rainey; three sisters: Ora Lee McCoy of Hazlehurst, GA; Beavor Ann McArthur (Elder Howard McArthur) of Hazlehurst, GA; Willie B Davis of Uvalda GA; Brother-in-laws: Willie Rainey Jr., Franklin (Star)Conaway, Bruce (Albertha)King, Dexter Rainey Sr., Elijah Rainey. Sister-in-laws: Yolanda (Charlie)Williams, Nancey Rainey, Brenda Rainey, Patricia (EJ)Rainey-Jackson, Alice Deal, Leanna Jackson. She had several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
