Wallace Harvey, a resident of Glenville, GA passed away peacefully at his residence on September 4, 2024. Wallace was under the care of Amedisys Hospice Care of Pooler, GA. Wallace was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Wallace was born in Reidsville, GA to the late Mr. Eugene Harvey, Sr. and Mrs. Vernice Harvey of Glennville, GA on January 2, 1954. Wallace graduated from Glennville High School in 1972.
Wallace married Louvonda Harvey on June 8, 1973. In this union, three children were born.
Wallace went on to learn the trade of brick masonry. Mr. Jerry Barnard of Glennville, GA took Wallace under his wing and taught him brick masonry skills. Quickly learning the trade Wallace excelled and was able to become self-employed.
Wallace worked alongside Jerry Barnard, Elton Grooms, Melvin Harris, and James Getty. Wallace bricked many homes throughout the surrounding counties. He had a passion for this line of work. Wallace's work spoke for itself.
Wallace was a great fisherman and cook. Many fish frys took place at his home. Wallace had a passion for fishing; he caught many fish through the years. Wallace's hobbies were fishing, cooking, listening to oldies but goodies music, and spending time with family.
Wallace had three siblings who preceded him in death: Harry Lee Harvey, Herman Harvey, and Elizabeth "Liz" Harvey.
Wallace leaves behind his beloved children Wallace, Sr. (Selina) Smith of Hinesville, GA, Tonya (Leonard) Harvey-McKinsey of Glennville, GA, and Maria Duncan of Hinesville, GA. Siblings: Eugene Harvey, Jr. and Shirlene (Clinton) Fair of Glennville, GA. Eleven grandchildren: Mahogany Harvey, Drevon Harvey, Wallace Smith Jr., Taylor Crayton, Lakell McKinsey, Aaliyah Scott, Tyler Smith, Gabriel Smith, Naomi Smith, Nicholas Smith, and Faith Smith. Three great-grandchildren: Kingston Smith, Nolan Harvey, and Chosen Scott-Walton. Brothers-in-law: Larry Smith of Jesup, GA, Barry (Kathy) Smith of Miami FL, Jerry (Johnnie) Smith of Montgomery, AL, Joe Nathan (Antionette) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Thernell (Beverly) Smith of Statesboro, GA. Sisters-in-law: Laverne Jordan of Vidalia, GA, Gaynell (Alfred) Kimbro of Glennville, GA, Barbara Parrish of Statesboro, GA, Terrie (Marvin) Ferrell, Angela (John) Tillman of Glennville, GA, and a host of nieces and nephews that he also loved dearly. Devoted mother of his children, Louvonda Harvey;Special cousin Hercules Mobley; Special cousin Melvin Harris, Sr.and Special friend Jessie Bell Sr.
