Walter Robert Wright Jr.

Walter R. Wright, Jr. was born in Appling County, GA on April 28, 1941 to the parentage of the late Walter Robert, Sr. and Earlean Wright.

In his formative years, he joined Mt. Zion CME Church in Graham, GA.

He graduated from Appling County Consolidated High School in Baxley, GA.

On June 12, 1961, Walter was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Shirley Ogden. To this union two loving children were born, Michael and Gina.

Walter retired from Amercord in Lumber City, GA where he worked

as a machinist and security officer.

Early Sunday morning, February 9, 2025, our Lord and savior called him home to eternal rest.

He leaves to cherish his memories:

a loving and devoted wife of sixty-three years, Shirley, three children Michael (Elizabeth) Wright, Gina (Wayne) Tabor, and Greg (Judy) Jackson, three sisters Betty Moore, Jewell Allen, and Josie Williams, three brothers, Jerome (Aretha) Wright, Joe Terry (Shirley) Wright, and James Wright, preceded in death by one sister, Mary H. Jones and three brothers, Aaron Wright, Lee Willis Wright, and Wille Earl Wright, Sr.

He also leaves to cherish his memories: four sisters-in-law: Dorothy Ogden, Evelyn Ogden, Vivian Lewis, and Dr. Lanell Ogden, two brothers-in-law: Moses (Ida Mae) Ogden, and Wallace Jones, six grandchildren: Branon Wyatt, Robert Clay Wright, Brett Tabor, Gabby Jackson, Olivia Jackson, and Ryan Jones,

seven great grandchildren: Landon, Summer, Brylee, Kash, Robert Lorenzo, Celeste, and Khyson, also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and sorrowing friends.
