Wilbert Jeremiah Baker was born to the parentage of the late Alzie
Baker Jeanette Cromartie on October 8, 1963, in Jeff Davis County,
Georgia. He was lovingly reared by Christine Baker.
Wilbert graduated from Earl C. Clements Job Corps in Morganfield,
Kentucky. He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He had a golden heart, and ensured his loved ones were doing well.
Occasionally, he disregarded his own needs to tend to the needs of
others. Wilbert was the person to go to if you wanted to play
spades, have a serious conversation, or just laugh. Wilbert found
solace in spending time with his cherished grandchildren and
going on walks.
Wilbert departed this life on December 29, 2024. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Alzie Baker and Jeanette Cromartie, and
sister, Janell Baker.
Wilbert leaves to cherish loving memories with his children:
Christine LaWanda Baker, Latonya Smith, James (Jacquline) Smith,
and Jaquan Buchanan; grandchildren: A'miracile Baker, Jazmine
Baker, Kingston Baker, ZaRyia Smith, Tyreek Brown, Amira Brown,
Chayance Smith, and Quan Harris; sisters: Sylvia Jean Chandler
and Elaine Baker; special friend: Cynthia Mackey; nieces and
nephews: Antonio Chandler, Carrie Chandler, Charlene (Luisito)
Ledesma, Dominique Baker, Anthony Baker, Antwane Baker,
Gregory (Gracil) Baker, Brad Baker, and Nora Baker; and a host of
cousins, and friends.
