Monique Porter-Davis was born on June 29, 1964, to Albert Porter and the late Nancy Laura Hall Porter. She was educated in the public school system of Long County. She was a phenomenal basketball player, and she was awarded a basketball scholarship to attend Georgia Southern University. She was a dedicated employee of the Georgia Department of Corrections where she worked for 20+ years. She was a faithful member of St. James A.M.E. Church of Glennville Georgia. She was also a dedicated softball player for several Tattnall, Long County teams.
She leaves a lifetime of precious memories to be cherished by her loving son Devin Davis, father Albert Porter (Sandra), and three brothers: Robert Jordan Porter (Tony) Atlanta Georgia, Charles William Porter (Catena Porter), Hinesville Georgia, and Raymond Porter, Glennville, Georgia and Sister Dorothy Anntionette Porter Thompson (Lester) Atlanta Georgia; two uncles: Robert M. Porter (Evelyn), Lonnie Johnson (Francie) Aunts: Doris Peggy Porter Warren, (Arthur) Charleston SC, Laura Jeanette Porter Stephens, Toni Wilson, Greenville NC, JettieGrace Jackson, Savannah Georgia, Ava Dean Cox, Glennville Ga, Great Aunt Ollie Mae Porter, Glennville Ga as well as nieces and nephews JaKayla Porter, Ethan Porter, Sara, and Matthew Thompson, Martesia Lavant, Courtney, and Demetrius Foreman and the late Retha Mae. Former husband James Davis, Macon Georgia.
